Professional Profile Overview

Civil/Structural Engineer, Engineering Manager, Project Engineer, Project Manager and Business Development Manager with over 45 years of experience in the Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) industry, in the pipeline facilities industry in Alberta, and the structural steel fabrication industry in Québec. Project work, in the home office and at site, includes the engineering and design coordination of large and small, grass-roots and revamp projects for industrial and commercial facilities such as upgraders, oil & gas facilities, petrochemical plants, buildings, plant facilities including civil site preparation and roads, pipeline facilities and highway bridges.
Familiar with various forms of contracts including lump sum, reimbursable cost, target price, and incentive arrangements based on cost and schedule, including fee at risk. Close liaison with internal legal counsel to negotiate contracts in support of corporate sales. Experienced as a Department Manager with the hiring and on-boarding of technical personnel in major EPC companies, the allocation of civil/structural/architectural personnel for active projects, and the mentoring/training of department personnel. Multi-discipline coordination of engineering and design activities in the home office and at the construction site. Experienced at managing and facilitating interfaces among diverse engineering groups in support of project execution.
An active member since 2009, and chair since 2014, of APEGA’s Investigative Committee. Active member and long-term service in leadership roles with professional technical organizations such as the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering and the Canadian Society for Engineering Management; and, registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta with APEGA.
